Reports

President’s–Reenie

Swim Lessons–We should quit offering since we didn’t have any interest last year.

Life Guards–Same as last year

Secretary’s–Kristy

Nothing to report.

Treasurer’s–Karla

Current Balance is $1857.69

2015 Membership & Pool Party Revenue was $13098.00

2016 Needs to Increase Membership/Parties to Cover Estimated Operating Expense of $19,000-$20,000.

What happens if Memberships remain the same or decrease?

We discussed ways to cut expenses.  We will cancel phone service-$337 and Cancel Dishonesty Program-$126.  We will also make sure pool doesn’t open as early as we spent a lot on chemicals when Swims & Sweeps opened in April.  Mike & Ken will open pool however Mike will check with Mickey because he doesn’t know how to open valves.  They thought they did a better job than paying Swims & Sweeps.  Mike has a power washer now.  Mike will check on Chlorine prices to see if we can get it cheaper somewhere else.  We are currently paying aprox $259 for 100 lbs.  We need to raise Memberships by 30-40 Families just to have enough money.  Kristy will send email to members making them aware of the situation so they can start spreading the word & to let them know our financial situation.  Kristy will also make up a flyer and get with superintendant to get approved to send through the schools to try and create new interest with younger families.  Barbara will walk the Lakeshore Neighborhood and pass out flyers and talk with neighbors to make sure they are aware of the pool and to get reasons why they aren’t members.  It was decided that if we don’t have enough members by 5/8 we won’t open. We also haven’t raised fees in quite some time so the 2016 Membership Fees will be Family–$300 by 4/30 & $335 after.  Couple–$200 by 4/30 & $235 after.  Opening day would be 5/28.  That then brings up the question “What we do with the pool if we don’t have enough members to open it this year?”.  Mike will check with Terry to see if he knows who owns the property.  Kristy will call the county.

Maintenance–Ken & Mike

Opening Date– 5/28

What do we need to fix–There are some repairs that need to be done but we don’t have any money so we will table that discussion.

Event Organizer–Mindy

Does not want to do a Movie Night–It was decided that we need more activities.  If no events are going to be done then we will not have an Event Organizer and the Secretary will take over Parties.  The board would like to see the “Dive In” movie night back and maybe something else.  We also need to rename the end of year BBQ to “Membership Appreciation BBQ.  The price for pool parties this year will be $75 no matter when they are.  They were $60 and then the 1st Friday of the month $120.  Hoping by having even Friday’s at $75 we will generate more income.

Life Guard–Elana & Katelyn

Nothing to report
